CHAMBERY - Cathédrale Saint-François de Sales

Back

encastréOrgan : 3keyboards , pedalboard - 55 stops

It is an instrument of the organ builder Zieger built in 1850.

90% of the pipework of origin remains. It was restored and lenghtened to return to the diapason 435 Hz of 1850.

The organ was electrified in 1960 leading to a large number of modifications.
Facades redone on this occasion were melted and then rebuilt in the Zeiger model during the restoration of 2004. This restoration consisted in returning to the organ of Zeiger, completed by his nephew at the end of the 19th century. The ancient windchests were restored and all the instrumental part was restructured : the mechanic and the blower were done up new.
This organ has the peculiarity to possess one Bombard of 32p in real length of our construction on a hypothetical model of Zeiger.
