Orgue du Monastère San Domingo (1998)

Cet orgue de la région de Oaxaca, au Mexique est l’œuvre d’un facteur anonyme.

Le buffet et les tuyaux de façade (les plus anciens) ont permis de situer la construction de cet instrument à la fin du 17^ème siècle ou au début du 18^ème siècle.

Une particularité de cet orgue est le décor des tuyaux de façade peints de fleurs et d’oiseaux sur une couche de feuille d’argent qui recouvrait toute la partie visible des tuyaux.

This organ, from the region of Oaxaca, Mexico, is the work of an anonymous organ builder.

The case an the front pipes (the most ancient) has allowed to fix the construction of this instrument at the end of the 17^th century or at the beginning of the 18^th century.

A characteristic of the organ is the decoration of the front pipes painted with flowers and birds on silver sheets stuck on all the visible part of the pipes.
