SANARY SUR MER - Eglise Saint-Nazaire

Organ : 3 keyboards , pedalboard - 30 stops

Back

The case is freely build on the organ of the basilica St Ulrich and Ste Afra of Augsburg (1608). This instrument of 30 stops distributed on three keyboards is conceived in compliance with the classic French style.
The division of Great-Organ is arranged on two keyboards. Two big windchests with inserted groove channels, contain the piping of these two complementary divisions which we find generally on a single keyboard in the organs of the 18th French style.

The Pedal's stops are situated behind the great case. Sculptures in lime tree are the work of Mrs B. Vauquois Vauquois/Quoirin as well as all the polychromy of the cases, colors of which remind the general tone of the wall paintings of this small neo-Byzantine church built in 1925. These murals are recent and was made at the same time as the organ.

The instrument is tuned according to the temperament "Jung / Vallotti", the harmonization is in compliance with the classic French style except for the basson 16' of Pedal cut on the Fifth 10 2 / 3' and provided with tear-drop shallots covered with skin.
