Nous savons peu de chose sur l’histoire et l’origine de cet instrument.

Les premiers écrits qui y font allusion datent de la fin du 16^ème siècle et les remarquables sculptures du buffet évoquent bien la Renaissance et le tout début du 17^ème siècle.

Au cours des époques suivantes, au 18^ème et 19^ème siècles, l’orgue est transformé et toute la mécanique et la tuyauterie sont vraisemblablement remplacés, l’instrument est déplacé et « agrandi » de telle sorte que le buffet et la structure sont modifiés et se dégradent rapidement.

L’orgue est vidé dans la première moitié du 20^ème siècle, en particulier, la tuyauterie sera démontée pendant la dernière guerre pour échapper au pillage de l’occupant.

La reconstitution du buffet et la recréation de la partie instrumentale et mécanique de cet orgue a donc demandé un très important travail d’étude.

We have a very little information about the history and the origin of this organ. The first writings that mention it are from the end of the 16^th century and the very beautiful sculptures of the case refer to the Renaissance style and the early beginning of the 17^th century.

During the latest periods, in the 18^th and 19^th centuries, the organ is modified and all the mechanic parts and the pipes are probably changed, the instrument is moved and “augmented” so that the case and the structure are modified and damaged.

The organ is emptied in the first half of the 20^th century, particularly the pipes that are dismounted during the last war, to be protected from the occupants.

The reconstitution of the case and the re-creation of the instrumental and mechanical part of this organ asked an important study work.
